Update on the children's book The Sun Jumped Over the Moon
Hello Everyone,
I can’t believe it’s been since August for my last post.
So much going on with the promotion, selling, and marketing this book. It has been crazy good. The adults seem to be more excited about the book than the kids and the kids are so into the book. I will do another post letting you all know the feedback on the book from both the adults and the children. The ideas people are coming up with to use the book as gifts warms my heart.
But right now I want to share a story about how the book made it in the local paper - The New Pelican - which covers a large area of South Florida.
I rec’d a call from Michael, the owner of the paper asking for a picture of me holding the book. He let me know they don’t do full articles regarding author’s releasing new books but he would put my picture in there with my website address.
I was very grateful for this. Still navigating my way through this publishing world, I was happy to receive this opportunity. However, you need to know that I had JUST permed my hair, going from poker straight hair to major curls. Anyone who has ever permed their hair, knows that during the first 30 days you have nothing but tight CURLS everywhere. These are the kind of shenanigans I get into when my super thin straight hair misbehaves during extreme humid days. I hadn’t even decided if I liked the new look yet or not. But opportunity was knocking.
My dear friends Mike and Mary Wall invited me over for a photoshoot, Mike is the genius who made the pages of the book come alive after sitting in my closet for 22 years. Off the picture went through cyber space to the newspaper with my new curls and me holding the book.
I rec’d a call from Marc, a writer from the newspaper, letting me know Michael decided he wanted a small article about me and the book. He let me know it was just going to be a little blurb in the paper, nothing major. We chatted for over an hour. As many of you know, get me talking about my books, and I will talk forever. The conversation we had was great fun.
Please go to the link to see my new curls and read the article. It’s 3/4s of a page in the newspaper!!!!! So much for the small blurb. How cool is that? So excited!!!!!
And I have decided, three weeks later, I love my curls. They don’t puff up in the humidity making me look like a Q-Tip and way easier to manager that straight stringy hair.

Hope you enjoy the article.
And thanks to you all who are supporting me in so many ways through this journey.
Lots of hugs
